About Community Ayurveda
Previously "Sattva Sangha Ayurveda"
We are a collaboration of practitioners who connected through the love of Ayurvedic medicine. Sattva Sangha was formed during our studies at the Ayurvedic Institute under Dr. Vasant Lad. We formed a deep bond as classmates, and now as colleagues with a shared vision of bringing Ayurveda to our communities and beyond.
In Sanskrit, "Sattva" can be translated as truth, peacefulness or bliss, and "Sangha" can be translated as community. This is essentially the aim of our project, to invoke connection and peace within communities through supporting individuals towards a life of health and balance.

AYURVEDA
The very word Ayurveda can be translated to "life knowledge" or "science of life."
Ayurvedic wisdom evokes Self knowing and provides guidance for individuals to live an empowered life. Every being is a unique expression of pure consciousness. Each one of us is born with a genetic blueprint, called "prakruti," which refers to our creative individual nature. As we move through life and are phased with different obstacles, relationships, lifestyle and dietary changes, we tend to drift away from our original state of being. This shift, or imbalance, away from prakruti is called "vikruti."
Our practitioners' studies have included Ayurvedic principles and therapeutics, herbal medicine, Sanskrit, yoga, pranayama, psychology, nutrition, meditation, dinacharya, Vedic astrology, marma therapy, pulse examination, Eastern philosophy, pathophysiology, pharmacology allopathic medical labs and anatomy. All of these methods can be applied to support clients along their journey of inner understanding.
